The KUTI Family accepts a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of Fela Kuti.
Fela Kuti was my ‘teacher’ and a friend of great inspiration to me.
Music is the Weapon – is Fela´s motto.
11 years after Fela´s passing, I started my music production company, and I named it after his motto to pay homage to him.
I used to sing the Fela Song: “Gentleman” – one of my favorites, back in the day at the Jazz Clubs in Lagos, Nigeria 1994-1996.
I lived, and studied music, and performed in Lagos as a very young artist✨💃🧡
Fela Kuti received the Grammy Life Achievement Award as the first African Artist ever, in 2026🤩
