Nordic Mobility Artist Post, 19.2.2024 Gudrun Holck is a Danish artist working in the interdisciplinary field as sound artist, singer, composer, performer, concept-maker, performance filmmaker. Her works are based on vocals through her concept “Everything starts with Song”. Check out the event on facebook here She has released three music albums and currently working on the forth. Holck has spend a great part of her life travelling, researching and performing art in collaboration with artists from Vestafrica, Middle East, Europe, Mexico, USA and the Nordic Countries. Her work also includes various educational programs focusing on artistic and creative processes through voice and body. She is a residency artist with Danish Arts Foundation, `Huskunstnerordningen´ and in music schools with 25 years experience. Gudrun holds a `Complete Vocal Technique Teacher Diploma ́ from 2005 from CVI. Since 2018, Holck has collaborated with visual artist Eva Vēvere from Latvia, with the duo name: SET SOUND TO. Together, they have realised seven inter-disciplinary art projects in Denmark, Latvia, Norway, Lithuania and Mallorca. The Duo falls in love with iconic buildings for its own unique light, architecture, spacial energy, surroundings, history and not least a soul that inspires. But the key focus is facilitation of co-creation situations with their audiences. The Duo is currently working on a new art project based on Nordic Lighthouses as cultural beacons; Set Sound To The Lighthouses: A Quest For Light. Holck received nordic mobility funding for a research trip to Riga, Latvia in July 2023 to continue the durational artistic research work of lighthouses in Latvia with Vēvere and to engage in a networking and residency stay with the Latvian art community of Totaldobže Art Centre in Riga. The funding also supported the international duo in the processing of already existing audio-visual footage and conceptual ideas from former site-specific residency journeys to lighthouses in Denmark, Norway, and Latvia into sound art and video installations, and interactive participatory performance and exhibition formats. #GudrunHolck #SetSoundTo #MusicIsTheWeapon
